Sheyenne Valley sets annual fall festival

Sheyenne Valley Arts and Crafts Association will host the 38th annual Fall Festival in Fort Ransom, N.D., Sept. 24-25.

More than 200 exhibitors will be set up around the community to display and sell their work. An art show will be featured at Bear Creek Hall, and Jon Offutt of Fargo will give demonstrations of glass blowing.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Demonstrations will be held on the hour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Food will be available at the church bazaar, community club dinner, at Stiklestad Memorial Park, senior citizens building, and musical entertainment will be offered both days around town.

Ransom County Museum will be open, and E Company of Custer's 7th Memorial Cavalry will have camp activities throughout the weekend at the state park.

In addition, Valley City State University student artists and faculty members will host a studio arts crawl at the VCSU Art Gallery from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Admission to the fall festival is $2 for adults; $1 for children 6-14; and free for preschoolers.
