SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The population of Sioux Falls grew by 3,300 in 2007, pushing the total past 150,000, according to the city's planning department.
Officials estimate the population grew from 148,000 at the start of 2007 to 151,300 by year's end. Sioux Falls has been growing by about 2.5 percent a year for the past 10 years.
In late December, census estimates said South Dakota's population now exceeds 796,000, a gain of about 7,700 over the 12 months that ended last July 1. That's a growth rate of 1 percent.
