Cass, Ransom, Steele, Sargent, Richland and Traill counties have been chose to receive $26,689 from the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program.
The money will be used to supplement emergency food and shelter programs.
A local board will determine how the funds are to be distributed among local service organizations.
Public or private voluntary organizations interested in applying for funds must contact Sara Kearns, United Way of Cass-Clay, at (701) 237-5050. The application deadline is Tuesday.
