TIOGA - The North Dakota Department of Health is responding to a source water spill in Williams County.
Hess Bakken Investments II reported that 2,500 barrels, or almost 105,000 gallons, of source water was released from a pipeline and has affected a local stock dam about nine miles southwest of Tioga, health department officials said Thursday in a news release.
Source water is higher in dissolved solids and mineral than fresh water.
Cleanup of the spill has begun. The health department will aid with remediation planning.
