The speed limit on a stretch of West Fargo's Main Avenue between 45th Street and Seventh Street East has been reduced to 40 mph because of poor road conditions.
The speed reduction was implemented Tuesday and will remain in place until an asphalt overlay project is completed, according to a news release issued by the North Dakota Department of Transportation.
The road project is scheduled to start this summer. Once completed, the speed limit on the stretch of road will return to 50 mph.
Motorists are encouraged to slow down, allow extra distance between their vehicles and the vehicles in front of them, use extra caution and obey posted signs.
