MARMARTH, N.D. - A pipeline leak caused 2,000 barrels of water to spill in Bowman County on Monday, the North Dakota Department of Health reported Wednesday.
Oil company Denbury Onshore uses the water for enhanced oil recovery at a well 6 miles south of Marmath. The water is higher in dissolved solids and minerals than freshwater, according to the health department.
The department will work with Denbury on a remediation plan.
