ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The city council voted to approve a growth plan for the St. Cloud Regional Airport that could cost $120 million in the end.
The plan calls for the addition of more than 1,300 acres to the airport that will allow for construction of a second main runway, crosswind runway, terminal, parking ramp and an overhaul of the main runway.
It's hoped the growth of the airport would spur economic development based on regular air service outside Minnesota as well as lure in a second airline and increase commercial traffic, said Steve Gottwalt, a city council member.
