The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is holding its semiannual Stake Conference this weekend at its Fargo chapel, 2502 17th Ave. S.
Members and visitors from 11 congregations in eastern North Dakota, northwestern Minnesota and northern South Dakota will participate.
A general session, open to the public, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday. Todd Hendrickson, lay leader for the conference, will talk about Joseph Smith, its founding prophet.
The church will celebrate the 200th year of Smith's birth in December. Displays on Smith's life and the early history of the church will be available 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. today.
