The American Heart Association has designated several walking paths in Fargo as Start! walking paths.

These paths will have permanent Start! signage and be part of a national database of walking paths across the country.

A dedication ceremony and unveiling of one of the signs is scheduled at 9:15 a.m. today at the Rabanus Trail near the Schlossman Family YMCA in Fargo.

Signs will be posted at six Fargo Park District Start! walking paths: Jefferson West Trail, Red River Trail, Rabanus Trail, Milwaukee Trail, Fox Run Trail and the 45th Street Trail.

To be designated as Start! walking paths, trails must be safe, walker-friendly, accessible to the public and have good parking nearby.
