HITTERDAL, Minn. - Two vehicle thefts overnight Saturday in Clay County ended with one car submerged in a lake near here.
The first car, stolen from Hawley, was found in a lake by Clay County sheriff's deputies, said Sheriff Bill Berquist.
Deputies found the second car, stolen later from Hitterdal, this morning on a nearby gravel road, Berquist said.
There were no suspects as of this afternoon, he said.
Hitterdal is about 30 miles northeast of Fargo.

Clay deputies are busy fighting the flood, but that doesn't seem to matter to the thieves, Berquist said.
"Criminals are criminals," he said.
