WAHPETON, N.D. - A dollar store worker who reported being the victim of a robbery Thursday has now been charged as an accomplice to theft, and police have issued a warrant for her boyfriend's arrest.

Amanda Lord, 21, is charged with helping her boyfriend steal $2,700 from the Family Dollar Store here and giving a false police report, according to the Wahpeton Police Department.

The stolen money has not been recovered and police declined to give the man's name until he is in custody.

Lord's boyfriend once lived with her in Wahpeton, but now likely resides in Minneapolis, Sgt. Jim Hartman said.

According to police, Lord reported being robbed by a man who entered her car as she was leaving to make a bank deposit Thursday. Lord said she was told to drive to an area near the Red River, where the man fled on foot with the money.
