BISMARCK-Scott Strenge, the principal of Wyndmere Public School, has been named the North Dakota Middle School Principal of the Year.
The announcement was made Friday by the North Dakota Association of Secondary School Principals.
Strenge started the student-led Sources of Strength outreach program to help support students through difficult times in their lives. He also started a mentor/mentee program for seniors and seventh-graders.
Strenge is principal for grades seven through 12 and the activities director at Wyndmere Public School. He has a bachelor's degree in history education from Huron (S.D.) University and a master's in education leadership from North Dakota State University.
