A suspect wanted in connection with a Feb. 19 stabbing in Fargo was arrested Monday when police tracked down a car that fled an attempted traffic stop, Sgt. Mark Lykken said.
Police arrested Scott P. Anderson, 23, of Fargo on suspicion of aggravated assault and on a federal probation warrant.
Detectives believe Anderson knew the victim, Lykken said.
"It wasn't a random thing," he said.
The victim, a 27-year-old Moorhead man, was found bloody and pounding on the door of a Fargo apartment building at 4201 33rd Ave. S. on the morning of Feb. 19.

Police believe the stabbing happened across the street at 3420 42nd St. S., Lykken said. The wound to the victim's torso was not life-threatening.
Detectives identified a suspect and notified area police to be on the lookout for him, Lykken said.
About 2:30 a.m. Monday, an officer on patrol observed a car crossing the center line in the 1600 block of 42nd Street South, he said.
The officer tried to stop the 1996 Pontiac, but it sped off, disregarding a stop sign and traffic lights, Lykken said.
The officer radioed other patrol cars in the area, and they found the car at the Stop-N-Go at 4301 13th Ave. S. about 14 minutes later, Lykken said. Anderson was one of three people in the car, he said.
Police are recommending to the Cass County state's attorney that Anderson also be charged with fleeing a police officer, Lykken said.
