Thomas F. Beard, 77, 1309 15th Street South, Fargo, ND, died Monday, June 30, 2003, in Manor Care Health Services, Fargo.

Thomas Francis Beard was born July 11, 1925, in Washington, D.C., the son of William Franklin and Sara Marie (Dean) Beard. He grew up and attended schools in the Washington, D.C. area. He worked for the Department of Navy, Hecht Company, Safeway Stores, and the Potomac Electric Power Company, all in Washington, D.C. On May 21, 1949, he was married to Jennette Irene Erickson at Nativity Catholic Church in Washington, D.C. In May 1956, the couple moved to Fargo. Thomas worked for Red Owl Stores in Moorhead, MN, for a short time. He then worked for Northern States Power Company, Fargo, retiring from there as section supervisor in July 1989. He was a member of Nativity Catholic Church, Fargo, and the Nativity Adult Choir. He enjoyed spending time with his family at Middle Cormorant Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Jennette, Fargo; his children, Karen Beard, White Bear Lake, MN, Teresa Haider, Fargo, and Andrea (Bart) Conrath, Alexandria, VA; and two grandchildren, Thomas Monson, and Madelynn Haider. He is also survived by a brother, John (Marjorie), Lewes, DE, and a sister, Mary, Petersburg, VA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothy and Catherine; and two brothers, William and Richard.

Funeral service: 10 AM, Saturday, in Church of the Nativity, Fargo, ND.

Prayer service: 7 PM, Thursday, in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.

Visitation: 5-7 PM, Thursday, in Boulger Funeral Home

Burial: Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead, MN.
