MOORHEAD — Moorhead Area Public Schools and the YMCA are joining forces to give out thousands of free meals for children this summer. Their program has served at least 4,000 since it started on June 8th.
Children from ages 1 through 18 are eligible to receive one free meal a day. The meals are given at local Moorhead parks and schools. Any family in the city can take part.
"There's no stipulation as far as income," said Donna Tvedt, director of food service at the school district. "Any child is welcome."
