GRAFTON, N.D. - Three people were injured in a collision between a pickup and a semi south of Grafton on Monday.
A 36-year-old Grafton woman, a 47-year-old Grafton woman and a 15-year-old girl from Minto, N.D., were injured in the crash that happened on Highway 81 four miles south of Grafton, WDAZ-TV reported.
Two of the women have been treated and released. The third was transferred to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. The North Dakota Highway Patrol has not yet identified the driver of the semi, a 35-year-old Hillsboro man, nor the driver and occupants of the pickup. The driver of the semi wasn't hurt.
All involved were wearing seat belts. The road was icy and wet and there was light freezing rain reported at the time.
The 2009 Freightliner semi, pulling two trailers, was northbound on Highway 81. The semi jackknifed on the icy road and the truck and first trailer came to rest in the west ditch of the southbound lane.
