WEST FARGO -- A tour of water retention sites or places that hold potential to hold back water during times of flooding leaves Wednesday morning from the Red River Valley Fairgrounds.
The upstream water retention tour of the southern Red River Valley is jointly sponsored by area water boards in Minnesota and North Dakota as well as the Red River Basin Commission.
Plans call for the tour to leave at 10 a.m., with participants asked to be at the fairgrounds, 1805 West Main Ave., and ready to load by 9:40 a.m. The bus tour will observe sites in South Dakota, Minnesota and North Dakota, with the itinerary to conclude back at the fairgrounds by 6 p.m.
