FARGO - Tri-College University, a historic partnership of three institutions in Fargo-Moorhead, is expanding to include Minnesota State Community and Technical College and North Dakota State College of Science, according to a Friday news release from Tri-College Provost Tim Flakoll.

The partnership, much like the one that has existed for 45 years among North Dakota State University, Minnesota State University Moorhead and Concordia College, will allow students at M State and NDSCS to take courses "at any one of the partner campuses without paying any additional fees/tuition," the release said.

Despite the addition of the two community colleges, the program name will remain the same, the release said.

Flakoll is quoted saying that benefits of the partnership include "increased academic options for students resulting in improved student retention/graduation rates, satisfying workforce needs, potential for ... more traditional transfer and reverse transfer opportunities" and additional professional development opportunities.
