Trial begins for man involved in fair fight

Testimony began Wednesday for a Fargo man accused of participating in a June 24 brawl at the Red River Valley Fair in West Fargo.

Mevludin Hidanovic, 28, 4251 33rd Ave. S., faces a Class C felony charge of engaging in a riot while armed.

Witnesses told authorities a large fight took place on the midway at the fairgrounds around 8:45 p.m. A baseball bat and a 4- to 5-inch knife were found at the scene, according to court documents.

Testimony will continue today in Cass County District Court.

If convicted, Hidanovic, 28, faces a maximum five-year sentence and/or a $5,000 fine.
