RED LAKE, Minn. - The Minneapolis FBI was investigating on Thursday the fatal shooting of a man allegedly by tribal police officers on the Red Lake Indian Reservation.
The FBI said in a news release that Red Lake Police Department was executing a search warrant at a home on the northern Minnesota reservation early Wednesday when tribal police officers allegedly shot Louis Barrett Jr., 20, of Red Lake.
Barrett was taken to North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji and pronounced dead Wednesday.
The FBI had no further comment. The FBI has primary law enforcement jurisdiction on the Red Lake reservation.
