Two 16-year-old girls were referred to juvenile detention Wednesday morning after someone reported to police that the girls stole two motorized shopping carts worth nearly $5,000 from Cash Wise.
The incident was reported at 1:15 a.m. by an employee who looked out the window and saw the juveniles leaving, according to police dispatch logs.
The two scooters are worth a combined total of $4,800, according to an employee, said Police Lt. Pat Claus.
The girls face potential felony charges for the incident as the stolen property is worth more than $500, Claus said.
