FARGO - Two men were arrested on marijuana delivery charges after Fargo police allegedly found 2½ pounds of pot in a vehicle trunk on Thursday.

David Hensrud McMullen, 53, of Portland, N.D., and Cody Andrew Neset, 23, of Fargo, were arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana with the intent to deliver, a Class B felony, Sgt. Mark Lykken stated in a news release.

The narcotics unit of the Police Department was following the vehicle when it pulled into a store parking lot about 1:35 p.m., Lykken said.

A police dog alerted on the vehicle, indicating that the animal smelled drugs inside, Lykken said. Police interviewed the suspects and conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle.

Police say the marijuana had a street value of $6,000.
