Two people injured in two-vehicle crash near Park Rapids

PARK RAPIDS, Minn.

PARK RAPIDS, Minn. - Two people received minor injuries as a result of a two-vehicle crash near here, the Minnesota State Patrol reported Sunday.

According to the patrol, the crash occurred on Highway 71 south of Park Rapids on Saturday afternoon, after 78-year-old Harold Mowder of Park Rapids pulled his 1997 Chrysler Sebring to the right side of the road to check his mail.

When Mowder attempted a left turn into his driveway, he pulled into the path of a 2001 Ford Focus driven by 63-year-old Steven Martinson of Parkers Prairie, forcing Martinson off the road, the patrol reported.

Both men received only minor injuries as a result of the crash.

The Hubbard County Sheriff's Office assisted the Minnesota State Patrol at the scene.
