Tyler Borgen, 17, of rural Perley, MN, died Monday, August 4, 2003, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Clay County.

Tyler John Borgen, the son of Roger and Jane (Tracy) Borgen, was born August 8, 1985, in St. Ansgar Hospital, Moorhead, MN. He was baptized on September 1, 1985, and confirmed on September 10, 2000, both at Kirkebo Lutheran Church in Perley. Tyler attended school in Borup and Ada, MN, and was looking forward to his senior year at Ada-Borup High School in Ada. He was a member of the Ada-Borup FFA, and played intramural basketball. Tyler had signed up for the Minnesota National Guard enlisting for six years, following graduation. He had participated in school work study being employed at Norman County Implement, and had worked at Lutheran Memorial Home, Halstad, Minnesota, and for Mike Bueng Construction of Twin Valley, Minnesota, and various jobs with his Father and Grandfather. Tyler enjoyed people, and had a great personality. He was quiet, good-natured, cared about others and loved to joke around. He enjoyed hunting trips and attended the Northwestern Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion in Rollag, MN, on an annual basis.

Tyler is survived by his parents, Roger and Jane Borgen, Perley, MN, his sister, Sarah (at home); grandparents, Jack and Jan Tracy, Perley, MN and Mary Borgen, Moorhead, MN; his great-grandmother, Evie Opgrand, Grand Forks, N.D.; his very special friend and Fiancée, Nikki Urban, Fargo, ND; aunts and uncles, Doug Borgen, Moorhead, MN, Peggy and Tom Pitsenbarger, Moorhead, MN, Susan and Mark Brownlee, Ada, MN, Ellen and Nolan Thompson, Wilton, ND; cousins, Amanda, Ashley, and Tracy Athman, Maddie Pitsenbarger, Kayla and Leah Brownlee, and Kendra Thompson; and his many friends and classmates. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leon Borgen.

Funeral: Saturday, August 9, 2003, 2:00 PM at Kirkebo Lutheran Church, Perley, MN.

Visitation: Friday, August 8, 4-7 PM at Fredrikson Funeral Home, Ada, MN, and one hour before the funeral on Saturday.

Prayer service: 7 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Burial: Kirkebo Lutheran Cemetery, Perley.
