Minnesotans need a change in Washington, and U.S. Senate candidate Amy Klobuchar said Tuesday she's the right person for the job.
"People want to see change," Klobuchar said at a news conference in Moorhead, where she was joined by Sen. Keith Langseth, DFL-Glyndon.
Klobuchar, a Democrat, has been meeting with Minnesotans from around the state for her "101 Reasons for Change in Washington" campaign in preparation for the Nov. 7 election.
"People in Washington need a moral compass," Klobuchar said, discussing her "North Star Agenda" for change. "They have a congressional compass that points only to George Bush."
Klobuchar said the focus should be on family farmers and permanent funding in the farm bill. She also said the U.S. is efficient enough to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

"I want to be there to get our priorities straight," Klobuchar said, referring to Washington. "When I go to Congress, I will ask the tough questions."
Although Klobuchar is determined to change things in Washington, it will require more than ideas, said Heidi Frederickson, press secretary for U.S. Rep. Mark Kennedy, Klobuchar's opponent.
"Klobuchar doesn't have a clear plan. Mark Kennedy does," Frederickson said. "Klobuchar just has some cute ideas."
