Brig. Gen. Robert J. Udland recently assumed his new position as brigadier general in the North Dakota National Guard.

Udland, a partner with Fargo's Vogel Law Firm, serves as U.S. Army assistant adjutant general and commander of the joint training and operations command for the North Dakota Army National Guard.

He served as the staff judge advocate of the North Dakota Army National Guard from 1998 to 2004.

Udland's military career includes six years on active duty, two years as an Army military police sergeant and four years as an Army judge advocate.
