Local 1426 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers is formally endorsing the proposed half-cent sales tax for economic development in Cass County.
The union and Fargo/Cass Forward, a group that supports the proposed tax, will hold a joint news conference to announce the endorsement at 2 p.m. today at 3002 1st Ave. N., Fargo.
Local 1426 has 900 members and serves eastern North Dakota and 16 counties in northwestern Minnesota. It does inside and outside construction work as well as utility work. The proposed sales tax is on the June 10 primary ballot in Cass County.
