MOORHEAD - The United Way of Cass-Clay has given $140,000 to seven local home- and facility-based child care centers.
The awards were announced at a news conference this morning at the Cobber Kids child care center in Moorhead - one of the five facility-based child care centers receiving money in the two counties.
In addition, two home-based child care centers are receiving grant money to help either renew or attain accreditation.
"It's a major step in the right direction to have that rating for your center," United Way President Judy Green said. "We want to create awareness and help parents learn how to search (for quality centers). It's a big decision."
