FARGO -- A car crash on South University Drive knocked out power to a neighborhood, traffic signals and several businesses early Tuesday evening, June 1.

The crash happened just after 7 p.m. near the road's intersection of 15th Avenue South.

Xcel Energy crews were still working to put a new pole in place at 12 a.m. Wednesday, June 2.

Fargo Police have not said what caused the crash or if the driver will face any charges.

Those who witnessed it said the driver appeared to be disoriented at the time of the crash.

A WDAY news crew on scene also saw someone being put into the back of a squad car.

According to Xcel Energy's outage map, crews estimated to restore power by early Wednesday morning.

The Hornbacher's Express located just north of the crash site had to use a generator to keep it's lights on, but the Chief of the Fargo Fire Department said it was not strong enough to power the entire store.

Staff at the grocery store were looking into brining in a refrigerator truck to the store.
