UPDATE: Westbound lanes of I-94 reopen

InForum News Brief FSA

SABIN MN -- Our icy roads could have contributed to a crash overnight between a car and a semi on Interstate 94.

The crash sent one person to the hospital, and caused authorities to shut down the west bound lanes.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. last night near Sabin Minnesota.

A section of interstate between exits 15 and 6 was closed for about two hours while crews cleared the scene.

Those lanes are back open.

It all started when a freight-liner lost control and hit the cable barriers near mile marker 14.

A person driving a Volvo, also heading west, crashed into the jackknifed semi, and ended up in the ditch.

The driver was taken by ambulance to Sanford in Fargo with non-life threatening inures.

According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation travel map, roads in that area were completely covered in ice at the time of the crash.
