HANCOCK, Minn. - A Hancock soldier was killed in Iraq in a noncombat-related incident, according to family sources.
Army Sgt. Kurt E. Kruize, a 1993 graduate of Hancock High School, died Sunday, his father Lyle Kruize told the Hancock Record Wednesday morning. Kruize's body arrived Tuesday night at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.
Kruize was married to Billie Kruize of St. Cloud and had four children, according to his father.
Kruize, who joined the Army Reserve while still in high school and wore his uniform to his senior prom, was serving his second tour in Iraq.
Lyle Kruize said his son died Sunday in Baghdad, but the Army hasn't provided the family with further details.

Kruize's wife traveled to Dover on Tuesday to receive her husband's body and was on her way back to their home in St. Cloud, according to Lyle Kruize.
According to Lyle, the couple have four children, a son and three daughters, ranging in age from 13 to 2.
Funeral arrangements have not been set. Lyle Kruize said he expects that services will be held in St. Cloud.
