FARGO - Police have identified 38-year-old Corey Ray Johnson, of Fargo, as the man whose body was found near the Teamsters Club building Tuesday night.

Police reported late Tuesday that the body of an adult male was found at about 7:45 p.m. by children passing through the area of the 1800 block of Second Avenue South.

The body was discovered behind an apartment garage in an open green space, and police said it looked as though the body had been there for a while and was exposed as the snow melted.

Lt. Joel Vettel said Johnson was last seen in the early afternoon hours of Dec. 1. His family reported him missing the following day.

The Fargo Police Department had conducted several in areas of Fargo to locate Johnson, Vettel said.
