A Fargo man accused of stealing thousands of dollars from a girlfriend entered an Alford Plea Monday in Cass County District Court.
Chancellor Geophery McMasters, 38, 2712 35th Ave. S., also entered guilty pleas in two other felony cases. His sentencing in all three cases was pushed back a month to determine restitution.
By entering an Alford Plea, McMasters admitted only that the state has enough evidence to convict him at trial. In that case, prosecutors accused him of stealing more than $50,000 from a woman by using her credit, eventually sending her into bankruptcy.
Among the items he bought with her credit were a new snowmobile, an all-terrain vehicle and a $31,000 pickup, according to a police report.
McMaster's attorney Richard Edinger said in court Monday he believes part of the dispute over the purchases is a civil matter.

McMasters also pleaded guilty to felony theft by deception for writing a $9,500 check for a UPS shipment, knowing the account had been closed, according to the court record.
In the third case, he pleaded guilty to unauthorized use of personal identifying information for using a girlfriend's credit card to buy memberships to online dating services.
