Angelina B. Garley, 27, was shot in the abdomen through the windshield of her car. She died en route to the hospital early Friday after residents heard her honking the horn and yelling for help.
A 33-year-old St. Paul man later surrendered to police. He was being held on suspicion of first-degree murder until the Hennepin County attorney's office can review the case Monday.
Police haven't released details on the relationship between the man and woman.
Authorities said there was no link between this case and two other fatal shootings in Brooklyn Park in the past week.
