Video: Family, friends remember Cameron Bolton during flag-raising ceremony at Fargo's Sanford hospital

FARGO--A flag-raising ceremony was held at Fargo's Sanford Medical Center Tuesday morning, July 3, to honor and remember the life of 22-year-old Cameron Bolton.

FARGO-A flag-raising ceremony was held at Fargo's Sanford Medical Center Tuesday morning, July 3, to honor and remember the life of 22-year-old Cameron Bolton.

Bolton, of Fargo, died early Tuesday morning , according to his CaringBridge site, from injuries sustained in a crash south of Mapleton Thursday, June 28.

Along with raising the flag, family and friends of Bolton gathered in a circle inside the hospital to reminisce and share stories of time well-spent with the Fargo man.

Bolton, an organ donor, has already begun his journey of helping others after his death. So far, four beneficiaries have already received organs from Bolton, according to a journal entry on his CaringBridge page. His heart went to a 30-year-old male, his liver went to a 43-year-old female, a kidney to a 57-year-old female and his other kidney to a 35-year-old female.

"Today we are so proud of Cameron to bring the much-needed miracles to these families," the journal entry reads. "Our prayers, hopes, well wishes, go out to each and everyone of the recipients."

"God bless everyone including all who have helped us navigate through this very challenging event."

A GoFundMe campaign created by Conrad Hager on Saturday, June 29, has raised $17,440 as of 11 p.m. Tuesday. In all, 324 people have donated to Bolton's campaign, which has a fundraising goal of $20,000.
