Sandbag filling operations in Fargo were stalled briefly this morning when sand supplies ran out, but more sand was on the way and volunteers are needed to continue filling bags and building dikes, said Ryan McEwan, supervisor at the volunteer call center.

"We've got plenty on the way," he said of the sand. "It's just the snow this morning slowed down the trucks."

Both the Sandbag Central and Fargodome locations will operate today, and buses will take volunteers from the Fargodome to neighborhoods to build dikes, he said.

Volunteers are asked to call 701) 476-4000.
