Walk to End Alzheimer's moves into Grand Cities Mall ahead of rain this weekend

GRAND FORKS — The Walk to End Alzheimer's in Grand Forks is moving indoors ahead of any wet weather this weekend and will be inside the Grand Cities Mall on Sunday, Sept 29.

About 400 people are expected to walk around the mall to raise money for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. They're hoping to raise more than $100,000 this year to fight the disease in North Dakota.

"(It's the) third largest cause of death in the U.S.," said event chair Megan Rupe. "(And the) second highest cause of death in North Dakota. Something very near and dear to a lot of North Dakotan's hearts."

Registration for the event starts at 1 p.m. in the Grand Cities Mall on Sunday.
