Blowing snow and slippery road conditions weren't enough to convince some drivers to slow down Monday morning.
In fact, they seemed to have the opposite effect, according to Minnesota State Patrol Lt. Michael Hanson.
Hanson said Trooper Randy Davis clocked two drivers going 98 mph on Interstate 94 near Barnesville about 8:30 a.m. Monday.
After catching up to the cars Davis was able to stop both drivers.
Hanson identified the drivers as Amy Simonson, 18, of Sanborn, Minn., and a 17-year-old girl from Inver Grove Heights, Minn.

Hanson said the women told Davis they were hurrying because they were late for class.
Both drivers were cited for careless driving, Hanson said.
As Davis was handling that matter, the State Patrol received a 911 call regarding another speeding motorist.
Trooper Jesse Grabow spotted the vehicle and clocked its speed at 87 mph, Hanson said.
The driver, identified by Hanson as Kathryn L. Anderson, 19, Delano, Minn., was stopped and cited for speeding.
Hanson said speeders pose a hazard to everyone on the road, including troopers.
"Every year, one or two of our guys get hit out there," Hanson said.
