The average temperature in Fargo-Moorhead over 2015 was the fourth warmest on record back to 1881.
Six of the 12 months of 2015 were remarkable warmer than average. January was the 12th warmest on record. Following a much colder February, March was the 10th warmest. None of the next five months were either remarkably warm or cool.
However, the final four months of the year were very warm. September was the second warmest. October was the 13th warmest. November was the fourth warmest. And December was the sixth warmest on record.
It is the cooler months of fall, winter and spring that are the most prone to being well above or below average, and most of those months were quite warm in 2015.
