OK, it's time for the annual "best time to take a vacation" conversation.
All the rainy and stormy weather lately has a lot of people asking when our summer weather might settle down.
Typically, June weather is more like a spring month than a summer month. Rain falls in June an average of one out of every three days. For a good vacation, most people prefer that the weather be a little more consistently sunny and warm.
Of course, any summer can have a long spell of cool or rainy weather at any point. But year after year, the weather is most likely to be sunny and warm from about the end of the first week of July through the end of the second week of August. That is approximately from July 7 through Aug. 15.
With this week's forecast looking a little more stable than in recent weeks, maybe it's a sign that the best part of summer is coming a little early this year.
