On Friday, March 9, the morning low temperature was 5 degrees and we still had 7 inches of snow on the ground.
A week later, the temperature hit the 70s for the first of four consecutive days, over a weekend no less. Winter became history, but it was too soon. We knew better.
Someone mentioned to me recently that the early spring was a lot like Lucy holding the football for Charlie Brown to kick. Actually, our spring continues to be going pretty well. Granted, the weather lately has been less than balmy. But before you complain too loudly, average April snowfall is about 3 inches, so we are a little behind.
Anyone for some May snow? In May 1907, it snowed measurably in Fargo-Moorhead on four separate occasions.
