The month of February in Fargo-Moorhead enters the record book as the fifth-warmest February, based on its average temperature of 24.2 degrees.

The average high was 32 degrees and the average low was 16.4. There were three days in the 50s during February, which is exceeded only by the five (including one day at 66 degrees) in 1958.

The month was also somewhat wetter, yet less snowy than average. Precipitation (rain and melted snow) was 0.79 inch, which is above the average of 0.61 inch. Snowfall of 4.2 inches is below the average of 7 inches. The heaviest snowfall of the month was the 2.6 inches in a brief snow shower after midnight Feb. 26. The heaviest precipitation was a 0.31 inch of rainfall on a 54-degree day on Feb. 20.

February was unusually sunny, with 16 sunny days, 10 partly cloudy days and just two cloudy days. This compares to the average of four sunny days, nine partly cloudy days and 15 cloudy days.
