Every day, it has been there, lurking like a bad dream that would not end: winter.

For those of you who watch the WDAY weather channel, maybe you have seen it, too. At the top of the north-central temperature map, Churchill, Man., seems perpetually stuck in winter. Its temperatures in the 30s stick out like a sore thumb.

While we are running about 4.4 degrees below average for June, Churchill is currently 7.4 degrees below normal for the month.

In May, Fargo was 3.6 degrees below average; Churchill was an astounding 11 degrees below average.

Up until just a few days ago, there was still snow on the ground there. With the snowpack gone, temperatures have finally made it into the low 60s. So look on the bright side - our weather could be worse.
