Friday - Art students tend to nurse a bit of an obsession with the human body. They sketch the heck out of it in drawing classes and study countless artists' takes on it. On the eve of her final year of school, Minnesota State University Moorhead student Elizabeth Chinander is anything but jaded with the human form. She's photographed romantic weddings and lively sports events, but for her latest project she chose to explore anew the topography of the female body. And she was once again fascinated by the grace of its lines and precision of its movements. Her exhibit, "Living Landscapes," features exquisite close-ups bathed in light against a black backdrop. It runs at Fargo's Spirit Room through August. The gallery will host a free reception Friday evening from 6:30 to 8, with an artist's talk at 7. (701) 237-0230
