Saturday - In the last few years, indie rock has replaced hockey as Canada's most ballyhooed cultural export. Groups like the New Pornographers and Arcade Fire migrated south to light up year-end album lists in America. One recipient of this hot-scene buzz was Wolf Parade, whose 2005 album "Apologies to the Queen Mary" was so lauded that self-respecting hipsters are now over them. Frog Eyes and Sunset Rubdown (pictured at right), two kooky Canuck acts at The Aquarium Saturday, are the past and present side projects of Spencer Krug, singer and keyboardist for Wolf Parade. They drew less attention but are both cut from similar cloth: an expansive and loose sound backing literate but absurd lyrics delivered passionately off-kilter. The $6, 21-and-older show starts at 10 p.m. New Instructions will open. (701) 235-5913.
