Tonight
One Grant's past is going to help another Grant's future tonight at the House of Rock. The former is Grant Hart, who was the drummer and shared writing and vocal duties for Minneapolis' seminal '80s punk trio Hüsker Dü. He's the night's headliner, playing a solo show at 10. The latter is Grant Klinsing, a 24-year-old Web site designer who has beaten cancer into remission but still faces medical complications and hundreds of thousands of dollars in bills. All proceeds from the evening go to him. Hart isn't the only entertainment lined up. A silent auction starts at 7, local country band The Roosters plays at 8 and a hot-dog-eating contest starts at 9:15. Cover is $5 for the ages-21-and-over event, with further donations accepted.
