Jean Gumpper reception
Tonight
A decade after leaving Concordia College, printmaker Jean Gumpper returns with a new exhibit. "Landscapes of Change" shows not much has changed in Gumpper's layered and colorful views of nature, they only continue to get better. Her vibrant and intricate woodcuts (shown above) offer a nod to the prints of the Japanese masters, but the fractured style is all her own. The artist discusses her work today at a 4 p.m. reception and follows with a slide show at 8 p.m. On Friday she gives an in-studio demonstration of the printmaking process. The events are free and open to the public. (218) 299-3310.
