'Macbeth'
Friday through Sunday
One of William Shakespeare's darker plays gets a light treatment - broad daylight that is - this weekend. Undiscovered Country Productions brings "Macbeth," the haunting tale of deceit and self-destruction, to the Jerry Scherling Complex in Island Park for a series of afternoon performances. The confines of the tennis court complex aren't cozy, so cushions are advised for the 2 hour, 20 minute piece. Audience members can also make a picnic out of the free performance by bringing lunch; bottled water will be available for a fee. The action starts at 1 p.m. The performance is free, though donations are accepted. (917) 653-5603
