Mark Andersen

Tonight

A few years back, Mark Andersen came through town to read from his book, "Dance of Days: Two Decades of Punk in the Nation's Capital." The appearance quickly transformed from a formal reading to an open discussion on life in America after Sept. 11. The Beltway scribe returns tonight to Zandbroz Variety in Fargo with a new book and a sincere interest in taking the political pulse of the people. "All the Power: Revolution without Illusion," employs the same agitprop aesthetic in a first-person exploration of activism. Sure, the book is cleaner and more orderly than the punk approach of photocopying flyers, but Andersen gets the stamp of approval from forefathers like Ian MacKaye of Fugazi and Fargo-raised writer, Jennifer Baumgardner, penned the preface. There is no cover for this all-ages event. (701) 239-4729.
