Pizza Pop Concert
Saturday and Sunday
The theme may play to Halloween, but the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony's Pizza Pop Concert, "The Incredible Shrinking World," has more to do with accessibility of music, both across international borders and generations. Guest conductor Tania León (pictured) leads the local troupe through selections from Asia (Chen Yi's "Ge Xu") to Mexico ("Symphony No. 2" by Frederico Ibarra) and our own back yard ("La Tumba de Alejandra Garcia Caturla" by Minneapolis' Shelly Hanson). León even shows off her chops as the composer of "Bata." The musical journey starts at North Dakota State University's Festival Concert Hall on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. with pizza and pop served afterward. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children. (218) 233-8397.
